With refinement, Cassidy was able to channel his sonic powers into concussive blasts, sonic lances, and even flight. He came to the attention of Professor X, and taking the codename Banshee, after the Celtic spirit, he partnered on occasion with the X-Men and served as a mentor to Generation X.
