Unlike traditional Battle Droids, regarded as mindless, mechanized soldiers, OOM-9 received specific programming to serve as a Command Droid for the Trade Federation. When Neimoidian Viceroy Nute Gunray aligned himself with the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious, an invasion on Naboo was imminent, and OOM-9 would organize and lead the Trade Federation forces. In early battles, the Federation's armies achieved significant success, garnering victory at the First Battle of Spinnaker, followed by the capture of the capital city, Theed. OOM-9 and his army went on to engage the Gungan Grand Army, rallied by the Naboo Queen, Padme Amidala, in the Battle of the Grassy Plains. While his forces made progress on the ground, the Naboo Space Battle raged in the skies. In spite of OOM-9s efficient leadership, the destruction of the Trade Federation's droid control ship brought an abrupt and definite end to his seemingly successful campaign.

An elite unit of clone troopers, and later stormtroopers, that came to symbolize the might of the Galactic Empire, the 501st Legion were the soldiers under the command of Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith. Also known as "Vader's Fist," they continued to enforce order and Imperial rule well after the death of Vader.
The 501st began just as any of the other initial clone units that blazed across the rocky deserts of Geonosis in the first historic battle of the Clone Wars. They seemed identical to the other clones that infiltrated the Separatist stronghold and pushed the Confederacy forces off-planet.
The 501st Legion was split into special mission groups, often to supplement other clone missions. In some cases, they operated independent of the command structure already in place. There were 501st troopers protecting the skies over Coruscant during General Grievous' bold strike against the capital. Others provided support to clone units on worlds such as Felucia, Mygeeto, Utapau and Kashyyyk.

As a young boy, Wayne R. Sneeden was tormented by his peers and lived a poverty-stricken life in Auburn, Alabama. He persevered to graduate as high school valedictorian, but he was far from showing others just how much he could achieve. He went through Airborne and Ranger school in the U.S. Army, and his character was tested when he took a dangerous assignment as a Covert Ops advisor in Central America. His advanced training and skill caught the attention of the G.I.JOE team, America's most elite fighting squadron, and Sneeden adopted the code name BEACHHEAD as he became the team's ranger. He quickly gained a reputation as a composed and stalwart soldier, holding himself and his fellow Joes to extremely high standards.
Beachhead's fellow soldiers have the utmost respect for him, though he has not risen through the ranks of the G.I.JOE Team like many of his peers. He does whatever it takes to accomplish a mission - even if that means displaying a certain amount of contempt for rules and regulations. As a result, he is always first on the field to lay down fire against COBRA's armies and the last to leave until each of his fellow men and women in uniform are safe and sound.

A consummate strategist, Grand Admiral Thrawn likened combat to art and was an aficionado of both. Recognized long ago by his people, the Chiss, Thrawn's greatest weapon was his mind. His tactics were controversial in their boldness, and his activities within the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet drew many a concerned, glowing red eye.
The rest of the galaxy made first contact with the Chiss when a taskforce dispatched by Palpatine stumbled upon Thrawn's fleet. The young blue-skinned commander was able to decimate the intruders despite inferior weapons and numbers. The taskforce's commander, Kinman Doriana, asked Thrawn for a parley. The two conversed, and Doriana was able to appeal to Thrawn's cool sense of logic and order. He outlined his mission - to destroy the incoming Outbound Flight vessel - to Thrawn, spelling out the threat that this vessel filled with Jedi Masters posed to the Chiss people. Thrawn completed the mission that Doriana failed and destroyed the Outbound Flight project. Returning to Csilla, Thrawn was reprimanded for his hostilities, and eventually, his activities caused him to be altogether banished from the Chiss.
The Chiss's loss became Palpatine's gain, and despite a strong policy against non-human officers in the Imperial Navy, Thrawn ascended the Imperial ranks. Before long, Thrawn attained command of an Imperial Star Destroyer, the Vengeance. His star continued to rise unabated, and he achieved the rank of Vice Admiral and earned Vader's respect and access to his secret Noghri army. After helping dispose of the traitorous Grand Admiral Zaarin, Thrawn ascended to Grand Admiral rank himself.
Thrawn's genius manifested itself best in constructing strategies from mere fragments of information. Thrawn was able to locate one of Palpatine's fabled storehouses, and there, found the technology necessary to begin growing a clone army. He found vessels for this army by discovering the long lost Katana Fleet. He recruited the maddened dark Jedi Joruus C'baoth and used his Force talents to better coordinate his scattered strikes. He also began to secure secret caches of cloned agents throughout the galaxy, ready to answer his call.

The coils of the COBRA organization spread across the globe gathering intelligence, committing acts of sabotage and carrying out assassinations to further their goal of world domination. One of those coils is the ninja known as Storm Shadow. Silent, methodical, merciless and unflinching, Storm Shadow serves COBRA as its primary assassin but, more importantly, as the personal bodyguard of the maniacal Cobra Commander.
Born Thomas Arashikage in the United States, he continued thirty generations of tradition and trained in Japan with the Arashikage Ninja Clan. Eventually joining the United States military, he served alongside and befriended the man who would become the enigma known as Snake-Eyes. Upon completing his tour of duty, Arashikage returned to Japan only to be framed for the murder of his uncle and leader of the Arashikage clan, the Hard Master. Learning that COBRA was responsible, he called himself Storm Shadow and joined the organization intent on discovering the identity of his uncle's assassin. Upon realizing the intensity of Storm Shadow's vengeance, Cobra Commander deceptively informed the ninja that he knew the identity of the Hard Master's killer and persuaded Storm Shadow to become his personal bodyguard. Committing his unwavering loyalty to the Commander, Storm Shadow became Cobra Commander's most trusted pawn. The Commander employs his ninja agent to instill fear in his enemies and, if need be, deliver their ultimate demise. Many lives have met their end at the hands of Storm Shadow, and it is said that the white light some see as they die is actually their final fleeting glimpse of Storm Shadow as he has carried out his mission.

These terms merely scratch the surface of the enigma known as Snake Eyes.
Arguably one of the greatest assets to the GI Joe team, Snake Eyes' record of honor and valor cause even the most evil enemies to tremble with fear.
In his early military career, Snake Eyes proved himself time and again in combat, most notably during the rescue of his allies, wherein he sustained injuries to his face and vocal cords, costing him his voice. Donning a mask and face shield only added to the mystery of this silent soldier, known by many of his peers as "Classified." The 1/6 model kit shows a vehicle heavily modified for desert operations by the SAS. It is heavily loaded with jerry cans containing spare fuel and water to allow reconnaissance missions deep behind the frontlines. For operations in the hot climate, the grill has been removed and a water condenser fitted. The SAS vehicle is also heavily armed with fast-firing Vickers K machine guns. Both a single Vickers K weapon and a twin-mount machine-gun are fitted ready for use against ground or aerial targets. This exciting kit is accurate in every detail, and it’s ready to range widely across the sandy desert terrain of North Africa!

The launch of Dragon’s impressive fully built-up 1/6 scale Panzer II tank created a buzz of attention worldwide. This massive Panzer II was part of Dragon’s 1/6 scale Action Figure collection, and it was significant because it was the first ever tank in the lineup. Now Dragon has followed it up with a separate model kit version of this Panzer II made to the same enormous scale. The result is one of Dragon’s biggest ever model kits! The actual tank variant is a Panzer II Ausf.B, which was produced by Germany from December 1937 through to June 1938. The 8.9-ton tank was a mere 4.81m long, and it was operated by a crew of three. In the turret was a 20mm KwK.30 cannon and a 7.92mm MG34 machine gun. The Panzer II was at the forefront of the German invasion of Poland in 1939, and it also featured in the Blitzkrieg campaign against France and the Low Countries in 1940.
The tank kit is an awesome size in this scale! Elements are accurately represented, and building a model in this scale presents a whole new experience for model-makers. Take the track links, for example. Owners can assemble the individual track links one by one with the provided metal pins, just as occurred on the original tank. Even though the original tank was diminutive in size, this model built to exact 1/6 scale poses a significant presence. Appropriate crew figures from Dragon’s extensive Action Figure range can also be matched with this tank. The turret rotates, the gun elevates and depresses, and in addition, the commander’s hatch in the turret can open to accommodate a tank crewman in the hatch. Modelers will certainly want to clear space on their display shelves to park this scintillating Panzer II Ausf.B model kit!

The 60mm M2 mortar derived from the larger 81mm M1 mortar, and was designed to bridge the gap between the latter and hand grenades. The M2 mortar actually served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as well as in WWII. Originally designed by the Frenchman Edgar Brandt, the first mortars were delivered to the US Army in January 1940. The M2 weighed 19.05kg and was capable of lobbing a shell out to a maximum range of 1815m. The mortar model is accompanied by a .30-cal M2 Garand rifle, a weapon that General George S. Patton described as “the greatest battle implement ever devised.” It was the first semi-automatic rifle to equip an army in the world when it officially entered American service in 1936. Used by US Army and Marine Corps troops in WWII and Korea, it had a maximum effective range of 402m and was fed from an 8-round internal clip. Both the mortar and rifle models are ready for immediate assembly, with their parts separation mimicking those of the original weapons. They are fully detailed and components can disassemble just like the real thing. For those modelers who have a penchant for famous American military weapons, this set offers double appeal.
