Avatar Jake Sully Polystone Statue by Sideshow Collectibles

Sideshow Collectibles presents the Jake Sully collectible statue, inspired by James Cameron's blockbuster film, AVATAR. Fiercely battling to protect Neytiri and the indigenous people of Pandora, the Na'vi, Jake wields an M-60 machine gun and wears an ornate Na'vi headdress. Each piece measures approximately 19 inches tall and is individually painted and finished, with outstanding attention to detail.
All that Jake Sully ever wanted in his life was a single thing worth fighting for. As a Recon Marine and a born fighter, he could pass any test a man could pass. But when a spinal injury robbed him of the use of his legs, Jake's days as a warrior came to an agonizing halt. With no sense of purpose, and unable to afford the procedure that would repair his legs, Jake began to lose himself. Until one night when two agents of the RDA found him in an alley and gave him an offer he couldn't refuse.

The agents wanted Jake to replace his identical twin brother, who had been days away from leaving Earth for the distant moon, Pandora. Jake was in a unique position to assume his brother's role as the driver of an avatar - a cloned body of Pandora's native race, the Na'vi, genetically engineered to code with Tommy's DNA and Jake's.

Jake accepted. Upon arriving on Pandora after nearly six years in cryo-sleep, Jake meets the leader of the RDA's paramilitary force, Colonel Miles Quarritch, who is tasked with the defense of the RDA's mining of the rare element, unobtanium. Quarritch enlists Jake in his efforts to study the Na'vi and to learn their weaknesses, in return for which he promises to see to it that Jake regains the use of his legs.

Dr. Grace Augustine is less enthusiastic about Jake, as the abrasive scientist makes it clear from the start. But when his first entry into his avatar body demonstrates Jake's natural abilities with his newfound form, Augustine's misgivings begin to waver.

During his initial foray on Pandora, an encounter with a fearsome thanator finds Jake lost in the moon's hostile jungles. When nearly overwhelmed by a pack of predatory viperwolves, Jake is rescued by Neytiri, daughter of the chief of the Omaticaya tribe of the Na'vi people. Initially reluctant to allow Jake to accompany her, Neytiri changes her mind when dozens of tiny forest spirits alight on Jake's body. She takes this as a sign, and leads Jake back to her village. After some convincing, Jake is allowed by the Omaticaya chief, Eytukan, to remain at the village in order to learn their ways.

Thus Jake finds himself in a position that can benefit the aims of both Colonel Quarritch and Dr. Augustine. And as Neytiri shows him the ways of the forest, and as he grows stronger in the ways of the Na'vi, Jake is forced to question where his loyalties lie.
